Self-supporting swimming pool basin made of rigid expanded polystyrene foam forming our EP-Elements structural insulation capable of creating swimming pool basins of dimensions such as those shown in this example.
One of our most innovative projects and where our PASSIVE POOLS system is the solution to various problems raised in the rehabilitation of buildings. This particular design allowed one of our clients to opt for the creation of a swimming pool with a water surface measuring 10000x3000mm and a water height of 1200mm, all of it overflowing on four sides and being semi-buried with the wooden decking placed on the roof. Thanks to our system it was possible to install it on the roof of the existing building on one of Barcelona's main boulevards, Passeig de Gracia.
One of the keys to the manufacturing concession for this project was the ability of our product design department to design a model capable of assuming the necessary water capacity in the perimeter overflow channel, as well as to absorb all the hydrostatic pressure of the water contained along the 10-metre length. In collaboration with the architects, we designed a series of perimeter reinforcement elements with channels to compensate the level in this channel.
Another of the most singular points of this pool was the design of the stairs. Below in the photograph you can see how the access to the bathing area was solved, it consists of 4 large steps that offer great safety to the bather, as well as a different and innovative design that fits perfectly with the design of the building. All this is possible in EP elementS thanks to our design and manufacturing technology.
