Blue EPS

Commitment to sustainability

Our product is a non-biodegradable material due to its intended use in forming products such as ceramic or structural backing. However, we have sustainable manufacturing where all our unused material is recycled and reused in other manufacturing processes.

Benefits of blue EPS

Physical properties it provides to construction elements

icon

Thermal resistance and thermal conductivity

The thermal resistance of a material represents the ability of the material to oppose the flow of temperature.

In the case of homogeneous materials, it is the ratio of the thickness to the thermal conductivity of the material; in non-homogeneous materials the resistance is the inverse of the thermal conductance.

Icon

Deformable and able to regain its previous shape

When a material is subjected to a force (load, stress or strain) a deformation occurs in the material.

If, when the force is removed, the material returns to its original (initial) dimensions, it is said to have undergone an elastic deformation, eThe material has only undergone a change of temporal dimensions.

icon

Resistant to bending, compressive and tensile stresses

The elements of a structure must withstand, in addition to their own weight, other external forces and loads acting on them.

Depending on their position within the structure and the type of forces acting on them, the elements or parts of the structures support different types of stresses

icon

Low water absorption compared to white EPS

Behaviour towards water: The polystyrene is not hygroscopic.

Even by immersing the material completely in water the levels of absorption are minimal with values ranging from 1% to 3% by volume (immersion test after 28 days).

icon

High insulation capacity High insulation capacity

In construction, it is used as a lightweighting material and for thermal insulation.

It is found in many thicknesses and densities ranging from 10 to 80 kg/m3, with a thermal conductivity of between 0.029 and 0.053 W/(mK).

icon

Self-extinguishing material

The ability of a material to stop burning once the source of flame-producing heat has been removed.

icon

Lightness in the construction of load-bearing structures

Thanks to the physical properties of our product, we will be able to carry out construction solutions where the weight, due to the low specific density of EPS, will be fundamental, allowing us to carry out works where it would not have been possible before.

icon

Easily machinable for the creation of unique surfaces

Easily manipulated in our factory to achieve any type of design that suits the needs of the architectural project, both by means of our CNC machinery and later on site by manual methods.
